With Oklahoma signing a majority of their class in December, there wasn’t expected to be as much news today as there has been in previous years. However, Oklahoma has patiently been waiting on the decision of one BIG prospect — and it’s in.
Just announced, 4-star DT and Army-All American, Michael Thompson has committed and signed with Oklahoma.

If there is one position Oklahoma needed land a big-time prospect, it is defensive tackle. The Sooners defensive line, while talented, is missing one thing: size. Michael Thompson delivers in that department. A 6’4″ frame and 291-pounds, Thompson has the physical tools to make an immediate impact for the Sooners, more so now with Du’Vonta Lampkin heading to the NFL.
Michael Thompson comes in as the 72nd overall prospect in 2018 and the 4th overall defensive tackle. His commitment moves Oklahoma up to 6th overall in 247Sport’s composite rankings, however that is bound to change some as more prospects sign. One thing is for certain, Thompson solidifies Oklahoma’s spot in the top-10, giving the Sooners back-to-back top-10 classes.
