Quick note: Apologies for the lack of content and twitter presence lately. I’ve been getting over some illness over the past few days.
Alright, Oklahoma fresh off their big win in Columbus is already seeing a bump in recruiting momentum. This weekend they’ll host a number of highly-touted recruits from across the country. As the list grows (or shrinks) this list will be updated.
2018
4-star ILB, Merlin Robertson – Official Visit
Maybe the biggest 2018 visitor of the weekend is Junipero Serra’s Merlin Robertson.
OU This Weekend #BOOMER ????⚪️
— Merlin Robertson???????? (@_Merlin_2) September 13, 2017
Ranked 163rd overall, 10th at his position (OLB), Robertson has long had Oklahoma on his list of top schools. In fact, at one point Robertson had flirted with making an unofficial visit to Norman over the summer. Obviously that never came to fruition, but it does show that Merlin has legitimate interest in the Sooners.
4-Star OLB, Jalen Redmond – Official Visit
Oklahoma commit, Jalen Redmond will be in Norman for his official visit. Redmond is a guy with huge upside but is still new to the game. Like current Sooners, Isaiah Thomas he needs more exposure to the game and the more Oklahoma can get him around the program the better. Also important to note that Redmond will potentially be an early-enrollee now that his basketball teammate heading to IMG Academy.
3-Star ILB, DaShaun White – Unofficial Visit
In the most recent update to the 2018 Recruiting Prediction page, I left a hint that DaShaun White could make it up to Norman very, very soon. Now you know what I was referring too.
Two things going for Oklahoma here. First, while White did commit to Texas A&M, he never really closed the door on the Sooners. Second, as you know things aren’t going well in College Station with the embarrassing upset in Pasadena and a less than flattering win of Nicholls State. This gives even more reason for White and other A&M recruits to look around.
4-Star CB, Kalon Gervin – Official Visit
This is the one Kerry Cooks has been waiting on for quite some time and it looks like it will happen. Kalon Gervin will be in Norman this weekend for his official visit.
Watching This Oklahoma vs. OSU Game. All I Gotta Say Is #BoomerSooner ‼️????
— Kalon Gervin (@KalonGervin) September 10, 2017
In talking to some sources, there is reason for optimism with Gervin this weekend. Is it possible Gervin commits this weekend? Sure, that isn’t out of the realm of possibility. Even if it doesn’t happen, Oklahoma is in a really good spot here.
3-Star DT, Emmit Gooden – Unofficial Visit
Arkansas defensive tackle commit, Emmit Gooden confirmed he will be in Norman this weekend for the Tulane game.

This is an interesting situation. If you’re on Twitter, you already know that Gooden has not backed off from the Sooners. His relationship with his teammate and Oklahoma commit, Tramonda Moore certainly helps the Sooners chances here. That said, it is hard to really measure how genuine the interest is on Gooden’s part.
4-Star SDE, Ron Tatum – Unofficial Visit (Rumored)
Yes, I have heard the rumor that is floating out there right now that Oklahoma commit, Ron Tatum will make the short trip up to Norman this weekend. I haven’t been able to get a confirmation, but given how close Tatum is to Norman, it would not be a surprise.
4-Star WR, Jaquayln Crawford – Unofficial
Oklahoma wide receiver commit, Jaquayln Crawford will make the trip to Norman.
I’ll be in Norman this weekend.. #BoomerSooner ⭕️

3-Star OT, Tramonda Moore – Unofficial
Oklahoma commit, Tramonda Moore confirmed a few days ago that he will make the trip to Norman.
Norman I’ll see you this weekend ???? #BOOMER

Not too much to say here as Moore’s commitment to Oklahoma is as solid as it gets.
4-Star DT, Bobby Brown – Official
Today, TheFootballBrainiacs’ Alex King confirms defensive tackle, Bobby Brown will take an official visit to Norman this weekend.
2018 DT target, Bobby Brown (@tre_brown8700) confirms he will take an Official Visit to #OU this wkend. Heads up Fri night. Big time visitor
— Alex King (@AKing_TFB) September 14, 2017
This is a big-time visit for Oklahoma they’re contending with Alabama for Brown’s signature on signing day.
2019
3-Star DE, Collin Clay
OkPreps star, Collin Clay will be in attendance for the game on Saturday. Clay doesn’t have an Oklahoma offer yet, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see one extended at some point.

5-Star WR, Theo Wease
Former Oklahoma commit, Theo Wease will be making it back to Norman this weekend.
Back in Nompton this weekend! #BOOMER ❗️
— Theo Wease Jr (@_TheoWeaseJr) September 13, 2017
Wease is arguably the most sought after wide receiver in the nation with 34 reported offers so far. Despite his de-commitment, Oklahoma appears to have held their position at or near the top for Wease.
4-Star QB, Spencer Rattler
Speaking of Wease, there isn’t a better time for Spencer Rattler to take a visit to Norman. The talented 4-star prospect out of Arizona is making his first visit as an Oklahoma commit.

— Spencer Rattler (@SpencerRattler) September 12, 2017
Rattler is now regarded as the top dual-threat quarterback in 2019 right now; getting him around Oklahoma’s top wide receiver targets is a plus for Lincoln Riley.
4-Star TE, Austin Stogner
Oklahoma commit and top tight end in 2019, Austin Stogner will be making his second trip to Norman this season.
5-Star RB, Noah Cain (rumored)
This is the big one as far as 2019 prospects go. After visiting Columbus last week, Noah Cain will see the Sooners play for the second week in a row per TheFootballBrainiacs, still working to confirm this report.
Putting the visit aside, before the Ohio State game, many who cover recruiting predicted Cain would end up in Columbus, but now all bets are off. Personal opinion is that Oklahoma is right up with Texas, Ohio State, and LSU right now. Time will tell if they can keep that position but right now Oklahoma is doing everything right.
4-Star WR, Trejan Bridges
Oklahoma commit, Trejan Bridges makes his way back to Norman for the first time since committing to the Sooners on September 5th.
Gonna be in Norman this week!! #BOOMER ????#OU
