Oklahoma Dismisses Freshman QB, Chris Robison

Oklahoma fans receiving some bad news tonight as freshman quarterback, Chris Robison has been dismissed from the program. Robison, an early enrollee from Oklahoma’s highly-rated 2017 class, got into an off-the-field incident earlier this spring that resulted in his arrest for public intoxication.

He spent the summer away from the program for untold reasons and returned in late July. This news comes on just the third day of fall camp for the Sooners — who are now down to just three scholarship quarterback for the 2017 season.

Does this impact recruiting for 2018? Potentially. Oklahoma already has 3-star Tanner Mordecai locked up for 2018 and highly-touted 4-star Spencer Rattler committed for 2019. Even then depth could be somewhat of an issue in Oklahoma’s QB room. So if Lincoln Riley decides to pursue another QB in the 2018 class, who might that be?

– Oklahoma had interest in 5-star QB, Justin Fields before Tanner Mordecai committed, but that is likely not longer an option.

– Former Oregon Duck, Terry Wilson could potentially be an option. The Del City star is now playing JUCO ball at Garden City C.C.

– Riley could try to potentially flip in-state 4-star QB, Casey Thompson who is currently committed to Texas.

This is all speculation at this point and there is a chance Riley feels comfortable with what he has right now, and that could certainly be the case. However it is something to keep an eye over the upcoming weeks.
